Other Resources
- Web-based material via electronic blackboard, weekly work sheets, and handouts are made available as required.
- Students will require a USB flash drive on which to backup their work. A capacity of at least 3GB is recommended.
- Students will be required to take their InDesign assessment item to a professional printing shop for colour printing at their own expense
Overview of Assessment
Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills and will include:
- participation in written exercises, in class and online
- research activities
- the application of learned skills, formats and insights to your writing tasks.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks.
To demonstrate competency in this course you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.
- Formative assessments 1-9 - see teaching schedule
- Summative assessment 1 - Annual report due in week 14
- Summative assessment 2 - Presentation of class blog due in week 16.
