Course Description

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to review the developmental status of a client. The application of knowledge and skills described in this course may relate to functions such as providing information to clients and reporting or referring issues outside the scope of practice of the individual worker. Note that the client may be a child or a young person. Work at this level may require guidance and/or supervision from appropriately qualified personnel, especially where provision of direct client services is involved. This course applies to people working in a range of community service contexts including: juvenile justice, alcohol and other drugs services, mental health, and child protection.

2.4 Where appropriate consult with the clients carer, family or significant other to gather relevant information

Overview of Assessment

You will be required to complete three assessment tasks for this course. These tasks involve answering questions bases on a case study, the analysis of clients’ situation and suitability of services, and an online test covering important aspects of the course.


Assessment Tasks

For this course you are required to complete the following tasks:

Assessment Task 1 – Case Study: in this task you will required to adopt the role of team leader for a home care serviced for older clients with disabilities and answer a series of questions based on the clients.

Assessment Task 2 - Analysis of clients’ information: for this task you are to conduct an analysis of clients’ current situation in order to determine the suitability of services. You will also design a mock meeting for one of the clients and family members.

Assessment Task 3 – Online Test: for this task you will be required to complete an online test consisting of multiple choice questions and short answers.
