Course Description
In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to devise, set up, coordinate, deliver and evaluate activities and programs for individuals and groups.

Teaching Schedule
The teaching schedule for this course is as follows:
Week 1: Identify a youth work program that is required by young people
- Sociological factors – identifying service / program gaps in youth programs in your workplace or placement.
- Collective action – identify youth programs that meet the expressed needs and interests of young people
- CHCGROUP403C – program logic approach to planning youth projects
Week 2: Prepare a program plan
- Group work, Complex project plans
- Provide a youth work project plan including, activities, contingency plans, a budget, the physical resources required for the program and plans for implementing and evaluating the program.
Week 3: An action research approach to engaging young people in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating a youth program
- Collective action – using an action research approach when working with young people so that their expressed interests, needs and feedback on activities and programs are reflected in youth activities and programs
- GROUP403C – program logic evaluation of group work activities
- WIL workshop - Evaluating youth activities / programs you delivered by seeking feedback from young people and your workplace. Report outcomes to young people and other stakeholders in the project in an accessible format.

Assessment Tasks
There are four assessment tasks for this course which will be completed during class time.
- 1. Provide a youth work project plan including, activities, contingency plans, a budget, the physical resources required for the program and plans for implementing and evaluating the program.
2. Answer questions on delivering a youth program reflecting on your youth work practice in the workplace or work placement
3. Apply an action research approach to working with young people to develop, deliver and evaluate a youth work program or activities in order to provide programs where young people are engaged in the process so their needs and interests are addressed.
4. Provide an evaluation report on the youth work program or activities you delivered to young people including the revisions you made as a result of consultation and feedback from young people
- This course must also be assessed in the work place and will require students to complete a set of questions related to activities conducted at work as part of their studies. This is part of a folio that students will submit the final draft of on 30.10.2015.
