Course Description

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to evaluate and enhance own practice through a process of reflection and ongoing professional development.

 

This course applies to workers in all industry sectors who take pro-active responsibility for their own professional development.

 

This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

Details of Learning Activities

All learning activities you will undertake within the course are designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to perform to the standard expected in the health industry.

Learning activities include:

Lectures – to introduce you to the key concepts within the course (online delivery due to currrent restrictions).

Practical classroom activities, realistic simulations, role play and group discussions – to provide an opportunity to practise your skills in a simulated work environment (online delivery due to currrent restrictions).

Clinical placement – to provide you with practical and supported experience in a nursing workplace.

Overview of Assessment

 

Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including written, oral, practical tasks and activities.

 

You will be asked to personally demonstrate to your teacher/assessor the practical skills gained during this course to the relevant industry standards. Assessment activities will occur throughout this course and feedback will be provided at regular intervals




Assessment Tasks

CHCPRP003 Reflect on and improve own professional practice

There are 3 assessment tasks that you must successfully complete, in full, in order to be deemed competent in this unit:

Assessment Task 1 is a Project: Learning Styles

This product assessment task is the second of three assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit. This assessment will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge on different learning styles and to determine your most preferred learning style.

Due: Week 3

 Assessment Task 2 is a Knowledge Assessment

This short-answer assessment task is one of three assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit. This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your knowledge required to evaluate and enhance own practice through a process of reflection and ongoing professional development.

Due week 11

Assessment Task 3 is Practical: Professional Practice Portfolio 

This practical assessment task is the final of three assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit. This practical assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to undertake a structured process to reflect on and improve your own professional practice and create a professional development portfolio. This assessment is divided into six (6) separate pages, each due throughout the course.

Important information regarding Assessment tasks:

You are permitted to have a maximum of 2 resubmissions for this course, however each individual assessment may only be resubmitted once.  Resubmissions are not automatic and will only be approved at the discretion of the program coordinator after consultation with the teacher.

All resubmissions must be completed and resubmitted no more than 7days after your work has been assessed.
