Course Description

The purpose of this course is to provide training in the principles, purpose and operation of aircraft fluid power systems.
This course involves the principles, purposes and operation of aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components and the application of this knowledge to the interpretation of simple circuits.

1. Explain fluid power principles.
2. Identify aircraft hydraulic fluids.
3. Explain and compare features of hydraulic seals and components.
4. Explain operating principles and construction of hydraulic system components.
5. Explain the relationship of components in aircraft hydraulic systems.
6. Describe pneumatic system principles and components and analyse applications to aircraft fluid power systems
