Course Description

This course aims to provide an overview of integrated avionics systems for personnel employed as para-professional technicians.
This course focuses on avionic system principles, interface and integration of systems such as compass, communication navigation and how these systems integrate together.

1. Describe the basic principles of operation of the avionics systems and their sub-systems that make up a typical integrated system.
2. Describe the information required and generated by the sub-systems of avionics systems.
3. Describe to block diagram level the operation of an integrated avionics system of a typical modern aircraft.

Overview of Assessment

To successfully complete this course the student is required to pass written assessment tasks and demonstrate skills and ability by completing pratical tasks to aerospace standard.


Assessment Tasks

Participants are required to complete two assessment tasks. The first assessment task is a written assignment. The second assessment task is a closed book final examination at the end of the course.

Assessment task 1 (40%): Assignment

Assessment task 2 (60%): FINAL EXAMINATION
