Course Description

This course contains some of the underpinning knowledge of a program, which designed for a person to be able to undertake design, select, install, commission, maintain and carry out repairs on advanced electronic equipment and systems.
The Knowledge and skills addressed in this course include report writing & presentation skills, job seeking skills, team building and working effectively in a team, and industrial investigation and research

Details of Learning Activities

1. Participate in individual and team problem solving scenarios/role plays/ case studies dealing with a range of practical exercises related to:
• Basic personal development skills, which involves job search, working in team, technical and workplace writing, research and presentation skills

2. Participate in simulated workplace environment activities, including:

• Work simulation projects focus in technical leadership activities, which include: team building, identify team member’s work task, clear and concise dissemination of ideas and information, planning and organizing work to meet quality standards, time-line, personnel requirements and contingencies.

• Demonstration of leadership characteristic, such as: conflict resolution and problem solving, ability to conduct and participate in meetings, keeping records and documenting tasks or the activities may be negotiated to suit a workplace based application

Overview of Assessment

This is a progressive assessment, the underpinning knowledge will be assessed on the completion of each course, but the competency itself will not be signed off until further courses related to the competency are completed and the student is deemed competent.
The students are required to undertake summative assessments as follows:
• Progress Written Assessments
• Work Simulation Case Studies


Assessment Tasks

1. 2 written assignment tasks 35%
2. Oral presentation & report 50%
3. Role playing assignment 15%
To pass this course, student must pass all assessment tasks.
