Course Description

To provide opportunity for students to develop skills in implementation of computer based Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition systems, it also provides the knowledge and skills that are required for selecting and implementing a SCADA system.

2 Reported fault(s) are confirmed and the normal function of systems and associated apparatus is ascertained in acordance with requirements
3 Systems are checked as being isolated where necessary using specified testing procedures
4 Systems and associated apparatus faults are diagnosed in accordance with requirements, without damage or distortion to the surrounding environment or services
5 Contingency measures are managed and implemented in accordance with established procedures to ensure the system operates as intended or designed
6 Where applicable, appropriate personnel and resources are determined and co-ordinated to effect rectification of fault(s)
504.2.7 Unplanned events or conditions are responded to in accordance with established procedures
504.2.8 On-going checks of the quality of work are undertaken in accordance with established procedures

Element:

Performance Criteria:

2. Systems and associated apparatus are isolated, where necessary, in accordance with established procedures 3. Adjustments are made in accordance with established procedures where necessary, to return systems and associated apparatus to normal operating parameters
4. Faulty component(s) are rectified or replaced, without damage or distortion to the surrounding environment or services
5. Unplanned events or conditions are responded to in accordance with established procedures
6. Approval is obtained in accordance with established procedures from appropriate personnel before any contingencies are implemented
7. On-going checks of the quality of work are undertaken in accordance with established procedures
8. Systems and associated apparatus are tested to ensure safety of the installation
9. Systems and associated apparatus are returned to service in accordance with established procedures

This course may be assessed through a range of practical exercises, assignments and progressive tests.

• Assignment and work performance simulations projects (100%)
• A Pass in practical performance in laboratory exercises is required
