Exercise 1 - Seminar
Description
Research the scenic art of a film of your choice and present it to the class. Focus on an element of Mise en scene and discuss the art direction of the film.
Mark 25%
Exercise 2 - Group Journal Project
Description
Develop scenic art for the script and include Mise en scene, lighting, camera angles and figure movement, the ambience or mood of the scene.
Mark 30%
Exercise 3 - Scenic Art Journal
Description
Develop an arts journal for a script –
- Take photographs of potential scenes, design scenes, collect material samples, list props, any special requirements and costumes.
Think about the ambience or mood of the scene and all Mise en scene.
- Research local service and materials providers - including prop builders and hire, replica weapons hire/armourers, set dressers and hire, costumes makers and hire, locations, hair and make up.
- Budget for art department of the production
