Course Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to enhance project outcomes through the application of the quality policy by contributing to quality planning, applying quality policies and procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement within projects.

3.3 Rssults of ptroject activities and product peerformance are documented and evaluated to determine compliance with agreed quality standards.

3.4 Shortfalls in quality outcomes are reported to other to enable appropriate action to be initiated.

Teaching Schedule

week one - introduction, and terminology. Hand-out case study report, draft due week five
week two - theorists of quality, including Shewhart and Deming.
week three - zero deviation and tolerances
week four - standards, including ISO
week five - submit of draft report for assessment
week six - audit and self-audit.
week seven  - case studies, including Alcoa
week eight - cost and benefits of quality.
week nine - case studies, and guest speaker
week ten - review of course, plus final submission of report
