Course Description
This unit covers the analysis of wireless-based electronic
systems to provide solutions to mobile communications
performance. It encompasses working safely, applying
extensive knowledge of mobile communications parameters,
gathering and analysing data, applying problem solving
techniques, developing and documenting results and solutions
for use in design work.

Details of Learning Activities
• Classroom tutorial activities to consolidate the theory and application of various types of wireless networks, and advanced testing and measuring devices and techniques of wireless networks.
• Practical activities to develop skill in construction the working model of various types of wireless networks. Analyse the performance as specification.
Work performance simulation projects involving the analysing of selected systems, development of testing procedure to verify the performance specification in the systems. Specifications will be provided with work simulation (team or individual basis) or may be negotiated to suit a workplace based application

Overview of Assessment
This is a progressive assessment, the students are required to undertake summative assessments as follows:
• Written assignment related to wireless based electronic systems
• Practical demonstration in simulated workplace
Assessment Tasks
• Assignment and work performance simulations projects 90%
• Laboratory work 10 %
• A Pass in the Learning Unit when evidence of learning is collected according to the requirements as stated at “assessment criteria”. The documentation must be clearly communicated and submitted to supervisor within specified time.
The assessment is in conjunction with the course of ’Sensors & transducers’.
