Course Description
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to complete detailed specifications for fashion designs to guide production.

Students will gain the knowledge and skills to:
1. Identify a range of specification sheets used to communicate a garments production cycle, and the various standards used by industry.
2. Demonstrate the ability to prepare a range of specifications sheets based on a garment, and ensure that they communicate clearly so that production achieves the design brief.
Students will be assessed on:
1. The development of a range of specification sheets to fashion industry standards (progrssive assessment)
2. Produce a specification pack based on a design brief for a garment in an industry project. This will be presented to a panel at the end of the year. (Group assessment).

2. Demonstrate the ability to prepare a range of specification sheets based on a garment, and ensure that they communicate clearly so that production achieves the design brief.
In this course students will be assessed on:
1. The development of a range of specification sheets to fashion industry standards (individual progressive assessment),
2. The production of a specification pack based on a design brief for a garment in an industry project. This will be presented to a panel at the end of the year. (group assessment)

Overview of Assessment
In this course you will be assessed on the development of a range of specification sheets and a specification pack produced for a garment in an industry project.
Regular class attendance is necessary to demonstrate an understanding of each element. You are expected to competently complete all practical class work, which will be assessed individually, and a group assessment task based on an industry brief.
Specific information relating to the assessment task will be given in class time.
