This unit specifies the outcome required to contribute to the preparation of business documents required for goods internationally.

1.  Identify goods to be transported internationally

Performance Criteria:

1.1 Requirements for transport of goods internationally are discussed with supervisor or manager

1.2 Contributions and suggestions are made to assist in developing recommended options for arranging international transport of goods based on previous experience

1.3 Recommendations made for international transport of goods are recorded for further investigation

2.  Determine method of transport

Performance Criteria:

2.1 Options and requirements for method of transport are investigated

2.2 Suitability and availability of recommended transport options are determined and documented

2.3 Details of documented options for method of transport for goods are forwarded to supervisor or manager for selection and approval

2.4 Assistance is sought as required in determining method of transportation

Element:

3.  Determine packaging and stowage requirements

Performance Criteria:

3.1 Options and requirements for packaging and stowage are investigated

3.2 Suitability and availability of recommended packaging and stowage are determined and documented

3.3 Details of documented options for packaging and stowage of goods are forwarded to supervisor or manager for selection and approval

3.4 Assistance is sought as required in determining packaging and stowage of goods

4.  Contribute to cost calculations

Performance Criteria:

4.1 Components of costs for international transportation of goods are discussed with supervisor or manager and recorded

4.2 Determination of components of costs is made

4.3 Assistance is sought as required in assigned tasks related to calculating costs for international transportation of goods

4.4 Costs for international transport of goods are documented in accordance with workplace procedures

4.5 Cost calculation is checked for accuracy and completeness prior to forwarding to supervisor or manager

4.6 Any revisions to calculations are finalised and rechecked by self and supervisor or manager

5.  Complete required documentation

Performance Criteria:

5.1 Required documentation completed by self and others in the workplace is completed and collated

5.2 Assistance is sought as required in completing and checking documentation required for international transportation of goods

5.3 Required documents are checked by self and forwarded for checking by supervisor or manager

5.4 Documents are finalised and submitted to or lodged with relevant parties

5.5 Copies of documents required for filing are identified and filed according to workplace procedures

Details of Learning Activities

The course combines the delivery of theory in a lecture environment, supported by case studies and examples that are discussed as a class.
Evidence and reinforcement of learning will occur when the students are required to apply the theory and case studies to online scenarios.
