This course brings together the skills and knowledge covered in other units and focuses upon the way these must be applied holistically to the realisation of productions.
C6087DIGIT- ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF SCREEN & MEDIA (interactive plan)
In semester one, this unit of competency Realise productions CUETEM08B is delivered in the class Design Studio 3. This unit brings together technical and organisations skills in order to realise a range of live productions or events. It is delivered together with Originate and develop concepts BSBCRT501A and Plan and manage film and media pre-production CUFPPM601A.
In semester two, this unit of competency Realise productions CUETEM08B is delivered in the class Design Project 4. It is delivered together with Plan and manage film and media post-production CUFPPM602A.
This unit runs over semester 1 and semester 2 (student driven, with staff support and feedback delivered in class and via online enviromnents). It is designed to give you the opportunity to research and create two individual projects from early conceptual stages, through pre-production to the final completion of the projects. This course is based on a professional studio model and will give you the opportunity to experience situations you are likely to encounter when working in the industry. The course introduces the concepts and practices of project management, which include storyboarding, animatics, schedules, treatments and technical, safety and budgetary requirements.
This is the designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for C6087DIGIT Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media. This course includes a WIL experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

Overview of Assessment
C6087- ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF SCREEN & MEDIA (Screen plan)
You will each produce/direct and write a film of up to 12 minutes duration and actively undertake proscribed industry crewing roles in other students’ productions as per schedule.
However, you cannot use non-RMIT personnel (and this includes former RMIT students) to crew in the key roles of writer, director, producer, 1st Assistant Director, Camera and Editing.
You will be expected to crew on other students’ films at least once in the other key positions of 1st Assistant Director, Camera, Sound and Editing but no more than three times in any given crew role.

This course starts in semester 1, week 8 and continues and is completed by the end of week 16 in semester 2.
Assessment for this course will involve engagement in five (5) productions through the course of semester 2: For each production, evidence will be required that shows a thorough understanding of all aspects in managing, coordinating and reviewing the entire pre-production, production and post production process.
You will each produce/direct and write a film of between seven (7) to twelve (12) minutes duration and actively undertake four (4) proscribed industry co-ordinating roles/crewing in other students’ productions as per schedule, published on Blackboard.
Semester 1
Assessment Task 1: Ungraded
1. A folio that presents details of class exercises and projected ideas and explorations of your semester 2 production work. The folio should demonstrate,

In semester 2 you will undertake a graded assessment.
Assessment Task 2: Graded
Major Project - Short Film Production
This is the production of an approved short film. Assessment for this project is divided into five (5) parts:
Part A: Producer to finalise your screenplay and produce a production timeline document - due 14 days prior to collecting equipment
Part B: Producer to produce preproduction documents folio - due 7 days prior to collecting equipment
Part C: Peer evaluations of the Producer by the Key Crew Members - due 7 days after return of equipment
Part D: Self evaluation of production and peer evaluation of crew by the Producer - due 7 days after return of equipment
Part E: Producer to finalise production edit and complete self and peer evaluation - please read the post-production Assessment and Deilvery Schedule (available on Blackboard)

Cover Sheet for Submissions
You must complete a submission cover sheet for every piece of submitted work. This signed sheet acknowledges that you are aware of the plagiarism implications.

You will receive verbal feedback during scheduled class times, and written feedback from teachers on your work . Where appropriate, this feedback will also include suggestions on how you can proceed to the next stage of developing your projects.

Special consideration for Late Submission (web link)
All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level. If you are unable to complete any piece of assessment by the due date, you will need to apply for an extension. You can apply in writing for up to a week’s extension from your course teacher. If you need a longer extension, you will need to apply for special consideration.
