Course Description
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to direct film and television production crews. Also, it brings together the skills and knowledge covered in other courses with a focus on the way these must be applied to direct film and television production crews.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment wil be practical and relate to your major production work. You will each direct a film of up to 12 minutes in duration and complete post production within the scheduled time allocated to you.
Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete all the following assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback on all assessment and where indicated, Graded assessment tasks are equally weighted and will determine your final result for this course.
ASSESSMENT TASKS:
Assessment Task 1: Preproduction, Auditions and Rehearsals (ungraded)
The student Director will complete a marked up script, undertake auditions, organise rehearsals for your short film production and document their audition and rehearsal process.
Due date: 7 days prior to collecting equipment
Assessment Task 2: Major Project(graded)
This is the production of an approved short film. Assessment for this project is divided into three (3) parts:

Part A: Peer evaluation of the Director by the Key Production Crew Members - due 7 days after return of equipment
Part B: Self evaluation by the Director - due 7 days after return of equipment

Part C: Completion of short film (edit) - please read the post-production Assessment and Delivery Schedule (available on Blackboard)
Assessment Tasks 1 and 2 are to be finalised by no later than end of Semester 1 Week 16.
