Learning and simulated work activities to demonstrate an understanding of typical analysis and load estimation of structures according to the Australian standards
Classroom tutorial activities to consolidate the theory of load estimations
Research activities related to load calculation according to Australian standards. It is expected that students would require approximately 20% of course hours to be allocated for independent study to do project research related to load calculation and analysis.

Assignments related to load calculations according to AS 1170.0,1,2
Assignment tasks involve applications of standards, codes and requirements applicable to load estimation on structures, and shall be as close as practicable to real work situations and include real work decisions by the learner.

Industry Visits- Students will be involved in industry visits and or engineering industry exhibitions.
Students in the final stage of Advanced Diploma are encouraged to undertake an industrial practice work placement activity, which requires student to undertake tasks related to structural domain within industry.

Task may involve activities linked to auto cad, structural analysis software packages, for load analysis of structures.
