Course Description
This unit of competency deals with the skills and knowledge required to design safe and efficient methods of controlling traffic on the road and at the worksite.

Learning Outcomes
Details of Learning Activities
Teacher-led lessons which will include:
• Overview of diiferent road management acts in Victoria and 0verview of different traffic control devices.
• Overview of different road signs (warning, guide and regulatory signs).
• Details study of intersection design.
• Overview of occupational health and safety - work related crashes.
• Guide post design and analysis.
• Overview of pavement markings.
• Application of Australian Standards with reagrds to work site management.
Student learning activities will include individual and team problem solving activities which address the designated areas of underpinning knowledge for each element. Hence, students will:
Demonstrate their ability to identify different types of traffic signs and pavement marking
Solve problems on CBR
Solve problems on design traffic

Overview of Assessment
Assessment are conducted in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course according to the performance criteria set out in the National Training Package. Students are required to undertake summative assessments that bring together knowledge and skills. To successfully complete this course you will be required to demonstrate competency in each assessment tasks detailed under the Assessment Task Section.
