Course Description
This unit is applicable to all Aeroskills training pathways. It covers the competencies required to correctly interpret, use and complete documentation associated with aircraft and aircraft component maintenance and manufacture.

Details of Learning Activities
Students will participate in a variety of teaching methods including: lectures, class discussion,
and audio-visual presentations.
Teaching Schedule
Session 1: Interpret aviation maintenance documentation associated to scheduled & unscheduled servicing/maintenance /overhaul conditions. Interpret information in accordance with regulatory and enterprise procedures. Introduction the Australian legal frame work in Civil Aviation. Describe the regulatory bodies dealing with the aviation industry. Describe the function of the regulative bodies. Describe Legislation Requirements and Approvals of Organisations
Session 2: . • Discuses the safety of air navigation and aircraft airworthiness. Identify documents to be carried by Australian registered aircraft. • Classify aircraft according to structural design
Describe occurrence reporting and the engineer’s Complete and update aviation documentation. Mandatory reporting/time (reportable occurrences).
Session 3: • Describe Certificate of maintenance review and certificate of release for service. • Discuses MIL, CDL, Ads, SBs and Orders. Types of aircraft scheduled maintenance and non-schedules’. Log books and Maintenance records
(Assigment 1 submission). Closed book Theory Test.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor. Feedback will be provided throughout the course.
Assessment Tasks
Students are required to complete and pass the following assessment task to demonstrate competence on the unit:
Assessment 1 – Individual Project-Report (40% proportion of final marks)
Assessment 2 - Written Exam (Closed book) (60% proportion of final marks)
All assessments for this course must be successfully completed to achieve a CAG (Competency Achieved-Graded). Only if competency is achieved will a graded result be given using the coding choices listed below:
CHD: Competent with high distinction
CDI: Competent with distinction
CC: Competent with credit
CAG: Competency achieved -Graded
NYC: Not yet competent
