Course Description
This unit provides the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to design, implement and evaluate an individual or community oral health promotion program that addresses oral health needs with empathy and insight into behavioral, cultural, socio-economic, environmental and genetic risk factors.

Teaching Schedule
Classes will commence in Semester 1 and be delivered in 3 hour blocks. Each class will include teacher led presentations, workbook activities, group collaboration and self directed learning opportunities

Oral presentation and discussion of oral health care plans for individuals and communities
Written reports and presentations on clinical cases and case scenarios.
Written report on program planning, rationale, methodology of implementation and evaluation with associated oral presentation of project and the outcomes
Clinical experiences in supervised clinical context planning individualized oral health plans for patients and recall.

Written exam 50%( 60% pass mark)
