Course Description

This unit covers fitting and inter connecting of electronic sub assemblies. It encompasses the safe use of hand tools, powered tools, identifying components, high reliability soldering, following set procedures and work instructions and keeping work records.

1.1 OHS procedures for a given work area are identified, obtained and understood   1.2 Established OHS risk control measures for work preparation are followed   1.3 Work instructions are obtained and understood   1.4 Advice is sought from the work supervisor to ensure the work is co-ordinated effectively with others   1.5 Materials required for work are obtained in accordance with established routines and procedures   1.6 Tools, equipment and testing devices needed to carry out the work are obtained and checked for correct operation and safety

2.1 Established OHS risk control work measures are followed   2.2 Circuits are checked as being isolated where necessary in strict accordance OHS requirements and procedures   2.3 Interconnections are made to comply with industry/ enterprise standards.

Cluster Information:

This course is delivered in a cluster (Workshop Practice) in conjunction with UEENEEE102A (EEET 6993C) and UEENEEE101A (OHTH5729C) . You must enroll in all three courses delivered in this cluster. Overview of Assessment

The assessment is conducted in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course according to the performance criteria set in the National Training Package. Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor. Feedback will be provided throughout the course. To successfully complete this course you will be required to demonstrate competency in each assessment task detailed under Assessment Tasks:
