Course Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to conduct complex engineering set out surveys. It requires the ability to demonstrate highly specialised technical skills and to plan and execute project activity according to job specifications. Functions will entail complying with and developing or amending organisational guidelines.

TASKS - Traversing

Setout PM450005600. Swing to MGA using PM702 and 704

Survey traverse from PM450005600 to PCM116120019 Nail in asphalt road. Radiate RMIT PM709 in your traverse.

Closing survey traverse to PM450005600 from PCM116120019 and determine misclosure of traverse and calculate linear accuracy.

Undertake survey traverse from PM450005600 to locate PM450005620

Closing survey traverse to PM450005600 from PM450005620 and determine misclosure of traverse. If PM450005620 has not been located, commence traverse from RMIT PM741. Calculate linear accuracy.

Coordinate PM279601270 and PCM116120019 from RMIT PM 710 and RMIT PM 711

Coordinate RMIT PM729. Swing to MGA using the RMIT PM733 and RMIT PM734 below. Radiate to PM901 while traversing.

Determine the MGA bearing of the west and south face of concrete pond. Swing to MGA using the RMIT PM710 and RMIT PM711 below.
