Assessment Tasks

Assessment 1: Document and e-marketing planning (Case Study Report)

Due: Week 7

This is an individual assignment. You will be given a comprehensive briefing on the requirements for assessment 1 in class in week 3 (see modules).  You will respond to the briefing by planning a portfolio of written and e-marketing communication tactics that will be researched and designed to meet the objectives of the client organisation.

Specifically, you are required to:

1. Build a website using Wix or similar that will be used as the home for the portfolio of work you will produce for assignments one and two. The website should be in your name, not the client's, and should be professional in appearance.

2. Write a PR plan for the client based on the information they provided, using ROPE. The plan should fulfil on the brief provided by the client be no more than three pages long and include the PR Tactics identified below.

3. Write three 600 word articles. These articles will be stand-alone articles but will also be useful as content for other PR tactics in both assignments 1 and 2.

4. Write a 2-3 minute video script that promotes the client and fulfils the objectives of the PR plan.

5. Develop a series of at least three on-line advertisements and publish them on the website. They can be designed to be used on a website or on social media and you should provide a brief rationale for your choices.

Assessment 2 - Prepare and produce e-marketing and complex documents (Social Media/ Digital Portfolio)

Due Week 11: You will take your communication planning from the first assessment and prepare and produce a portfolio of written documents and e-marketing tactics.

Using the tactics you selected for the communication plan you developed for assignment 1, you are to write and/or produce five additional PR tactics to meet the objectives you set.

At least two of the tactics need to be electronic or web-based. If your communication plan does not include two of these, then you will need to revise it to meet the requirements of this assignment but it is vital that the additional tactics you choose are strategic and fit into your original plan.

Assessment 3 - Portfolio review, group evaluation and client presentation

Due: Week 15

This is a group assignment that you will do in class in week 13 - 15. Attendance is required. You will be allocated to a group and all information required to complete the assessment will be provided in class in week 13. Week 13 - In small groups, you will review a number of the individual portfolios and evaluate them against criteria including spelling, punctuation and grammar and legal and ethical considerations. Week 14 and 15 you will present your portfolio to the client.
