Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to research information about compliance and ethical practice responsibilities, and then develop and monitor policies and procedures to meet those responsibilities.
This course applies to people working in roles with managerial responsibility for legal and ethical compliance in small to medium sized organisations. There may or may not be a team of workers involved.

Details of Learning Activities
This course involves two x 2 day workshops where information is shared through presentations and group discussions and activities where exercises are conducted to apply learning. Time is spent during classes and workshops for students to work towards group and individual assessment tasks.

Assessment Tasks
This course is delivered and assessed in a cluster with Manage and promote diversity (CHCDIV003).
Task 1: Analyse, improve and communicate a diversity policy and procedure
Assessment Task requires you to research and analyse diversity within your organisation, and prepare a team diversity policy and procedure.
There are three parts to the task:
Part A: Prepare a Diversity Research Report to determine the organisation’s diversity strategies and objectives, their impact of work practice and to measure the progress in the attainment of one objective
Part B: Develop a Diversity Policy is to be developed for your team, aligned to the organisation’s diversity objectives, outlining strategies the team will implement to use the diversity of the team and client to foster diversity
Part C: Develop a Procedure to use diversity strategies to enhance the work planning process
Task 2: Case study scenario
This Assessment Task requires you to analyse three different scenarios, based on an accommodation service simulated environment, to respond to legal and ethical issues. The purpose of this task is for you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge of legal and ethical requirements in the workplace and how these may affect service delivery and work practice.
Task 3: knowledge questions
This task requires responses to 20 short answer questions to demonstrate your knowledge of legal and ethical compliance requirements and concepts underpinning diversity practice.
Questions may be discussed during class, but you are to complete the 20 short answers questions in your own time.
