Course Description

In this course you will cover the skills and knowledge required to plan and manage post-production processes and facilities. It involves collaborating with production personnel, developing and acquiring post-production resources.

It applies to individuals responsible for achieving the post-production process on time and within budget. They work in a variety of production roles, often managing a number of projects simultaneously.

3.4 Negotiate provision of unplanned or additional post-production services with relevant production personnel

3.5 Monitor and manage post-production activities on a proactive basis and according to agreed operational plan

3.6 Prepare progress reports where applicable and organise review sessions with relevant production personnel

Other required resources include, but are not limited to: an A4 or A3 visual diary, drawing materials (pencils of various grades (1B & 2B), erasers, coloured pencils and pens, graphic markers such as Copic brand) broadband internet access, suitable digital media storage such as a portable hard drive or USB 3.0 flash drive, with at least 128Gb capacity.

You are strongly advised to maintain a daily backup schedule of all assessment and project data to your RMIT Google Drive account.


Overview of Assessment

Assessment will involve practical exercises, knowledge assessment tasks and practical individual and/or group projects.


Assessment Tasks

Assessment for this course is competency based. To show competency, you must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task. Once you have demonstrated competency, you will receive a grade for A02 and for the course.

Late submissions or submissions that do not reach the required standard, may be assessed Not Yet Satisfactory. You will receive resubmission instructions via email, myRMIT or LMS feedback. Resubmissions must occur within a week of this notification. Graded assessments which are resubmitted, are eligible for CAG (Competency Achieved Graded) only.

A01 - Post-production plan

In addition to a knowledge quiz, produce a plan for the post-production for your Design Project 4, including a schedule and a budget.

Due wk 12 - Ungraded

 

A02 - Design Project 4 Production Deliverables

In addition to a knowledge quiz, finalise your Design Project 4, undertaking all the post production steps you identified in your plan (A01). Includes three WIP (Work in progress) reviews.

Due wk 15 - Graded

 

A03 - Post-production report

In addition to a knowledge quiz, evaluate the post production on your Design Project 4. This report will include the final budget and be in reference to your A01 post production plan.
