Course Description

In this course you will cover the skills and knowledge required to plan and manage post-production processes and facilities. It involves collaborating with production personnel, developing and acquiring post-production resources.

It applies to individuals responsible for achieving the post-production process on time and within budget. They work in a variety of production roles, often managing a number of projects simultaneously.

1.1 Participate in meetings with relevant production personnel to determine required post-production resources, assessed against proposed production medium

3.2 Ensure documentation is accessible to all involved with post-production activities

3.3 Identify problems and discuss proposed solutions with relevant personnel prior to implementing changes

3.4 Negotiate provision of unplanned or additional post-production services with relevant production personnel

3.5 Monitor and manage post-production activities on a proactive basis and according to agreed operational plan

3.6 Prepare progress reports where applicable and organise review sessions with relevant production personnel

4.1 Attend post-production evaluation session to confirm final product meets creative, technical and budgetary requirements of the production

4.2 Obtain lock-off approval for project from relevant production personnel

4.4 Evaluate all aspects of completed projects and note areas for future improvement

Overview of Assessment

Assessment will involve practical exercises, knowledge assessment tasks and practical individual and/or group projects.


Assessment Tasks

Assessment for this course is competency based. To show competency, you must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Late assessment submissions, or submissions that do not reach the required standard may be assessed as Not Satisfactory. You will receive feedback on your assessment through Canvas and resubmission instructions via email. You must resubmit within two weeks of this notification. You may re-submit an assessment task only once. Please refer to the assessment brief or rubric for full assessment criteria. All assessment documents are available on the course Canvas page through MyRMIT.
 

AT1: Post production plan

You are required to produce a plan for the post-production for your Individual project, including a list of resources, a schedule and a budget. You should meet with your teacher to confirm that they are satisfied with the individual project you have chosen to complete this assessment.

Due week 5

AT2: Post production reports

You are required to complete report on your Work in Progress (WIP) meetings, the final budget including your logged hours and evaluate the post production process of your individual project. This report will be in reference to the plan you devised in Assessment Task 1.  

Due week 14

AT3: Knowledge Assessment

This short-answer assessment task is three of three assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit.  This knowledge assessment will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of planning and managing film and media post production
