Course Description

The focus of this unit is on using and making decisions about
everyday measurements, and using simple everyday language of
design to recognise and describe shapes.

Element:	1 Identify, compare and describe simple shapes and designs.
Performance Criteria:	1.1 Language of shape is used orally to describe and compare shapes. 1.2 Shapes in everyday or familiar situations are identified 1.3 Common words for comparing shapes are used. 1.4 Shapes are drawn
Element:	2 Work with and compare simple everyday measurements.
Performance Criteria:	2.1 Common units of measurement and their abbreviations are used orally and in writing 2.2 Numbers related to measurement in everyday documents or in familiar situations are read, written, interpreted and compared. 2.3 Appropriate measuring instruments are used. 2.4 Simple, onestep calculations with measurements are performed 2.5 Common words for comparing measurements are used

Short answer questions on measurement and shapes

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will recieve feedback on all assessment.

Assessment task 1 - A project where you shall walk walk around RMIT campus and draw all the main shapes you see on buildings.

Assessment task 2 - You shall answer some short written questions about identifying, decribing and comparing shapes
