Course Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to identify plumbing pipes, plumbing fittings and plumbing fixtures associated with basic plumbing tasks.

 Session 4  Work with pipes, fittings and fixtures and practical assessment  Instal trough/ water piping /waste pipes and lay a drain as per the workbook task using required material.  1.1 , 4.3

  Task 17 C Install trough ,Breech & Lugged elbows to Trough & CWM . Connect water from point to terminal points , under floor using Polymer  material ( Blue stripe Poly ) within wall composite material ( Sharkbite ) Assemble outlets & Handles to walls .Trap & waste pipe , UPVC clipped & connected to ORG , with 1Mof drain to OB .

 

 Session 5  Graded waste and drainage pipes  Grade a 50mm and 100mm pipes as per workbook task  1.1 , 4.3

Task 17 D possition clips & lay a waste pipe 50mm at a grade of 2.25% over a 5M distance

Task 17 E Position clips & lay a suspended drain at a grade of 1.65% over a 6M distance

 

Session 5   Work with pipes, fittings and fixtures and practical assessment  Install pipework from HWS to Basin Warm & Cold , including gas piping from PEX to HWS using required material as per workbook task.  1.1 , 4.3  Task 17 F Students to install mild steel pipe from PEX point to gas cock of HWS , using Copper connect gas cock to HWS .  Install lugged elbows for basin & install warm water from HWS to elbow & T for future connections . Cold water from connection point to Basin lugged elbow & HWS , include valves . Connect from lugged elbows to basin usingflexible connectors ( easy hookers )  Install trap & discharge waste to a point behind wall .
