1. Participate in a half day structured orientation visit to a Pathology Collection laboratory, plus participate in a 2 week practical placement,

Student Centered Activities( where employed in Pathology Collection)
Participate in workplace job activities related to elements of this competency.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment will be based on –
Participation and discussion on a range of study and practical placement (or workplace) issues and strategies to contribute to best practice
Written assignment to assess knowledge
Interview and questioning
Performance of elements of competence ,clinical skills involving direct client care as designated for this unit to the required standard during one or more of the following:
- Simulated workplace scenarios
- On the job off-campus workplace/practical placement
Authenticated Logbook/portfolio with supporting evidence from Supervisor(s) of relevant work experience, formal/informal learning.
Assessment Tasks
1.Produce a word processed journal of outcomes
• Orientation visit to pathology collection venue OR workplace setting against set criteria
• Clinical placement e-journal, to be emailed to Program Coordinator prior to exit interview day as perassessment criteria .

Complete question sheet relevant to pathology venue visit including:
• policies & procedure manuals
• organization charts
• floor plans
• instructions for use of equipment
• specific instruction for staff

Perform elements of competence as designated for this unit to the required standard during one or more of the following:
a. Simulated workplace scenarios
b. Workplace/Practical placement
