Course Description

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to remove water from a work site, either temporarily or permanently, through stormwater and sub-soil drainage systems. It includes the installation of submersible and non-submersible type pumps, suitable for pumping unscreened roof water, sub-soil water and surface water.

In some jurisdictions, this unit of competency may form part of accreditation, licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements.

Assessment Tasks

Theory Assessment 1 -      Students are required to complete written worksheets from Pearson’s Sanitary
                                                 Drainage, under pinning questions and SWMS from workbook. 30% weighting.
Practical Assessment 2 -   Successful installation of Stormwater and Sub-soil Drainage systems identified as
                                                Practical Job 42 in student workbook. 70% weighting.
