To provide and develop the learner with skills in a range of computing software applications relevant to Building Industry.

Learning Outcomes

This course will provide the learner to develop computer skills with the following softwares:
• Word Processing-to create document, edit and print text
• Spread sheets – to set up a spread sheet, enter given data and print results
• Estimating and Costing – enter quantities and rates for a given job and monitor outcomes
• Scheduling – enter operations for a given job and optimise construction schedule
• Computer Aided Drafting – using CAD to produce, edit and plot a simple 2D drawing.
• BC Aider (or similar reference program e.g. Top down) –to retrieve stored information and make hard copy
