Course Description

This unit integrates key technical and organisational skills to realise multiple live productions. Productions include studio and location based small and large crew styles and involves collaborations with a wide range of production crew, talent and external entities.

1.1 Evaluate production concepts and documentation to
establish the nature of production requirements for the
area of work.
1.2 Confirm the key objectives and scope of the production
in consultation with appropriate colleagues.
1.3 Develop a realistic plan for the achievement of production
requirements, taking account of any operational
limitations and other impacting factors .
1.4 Agree, allocate and communicate responsibilities,

operation of future productions.

Details of Learning Activities

In class activities will include a range of teacher directed group activities/projects class exercises to review discussions/lectures independent project based work online research
group discussion
Out-of-class activities include completion of individual design and pre-production work, preparation for class presentations and location excursions.

Overview of Assessment

Carry out the pre-production, production and contingent post production processes to realise a range of live productions in studio and on location.


Assessment Tasks

    Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and a grade for the summative assessment.

1.    Production of Photo Storyboard Rundown sheet. Due week 5 Sem I
2.    Set up for & Realise Photo Storyboard production. Due week 5 Sem I
3.    Production of Variety Interview Rundown sheet & Planning documents. Due week 12 Sem I
