Course Description

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively to behaviours of concern in clients and others.
These skills are associated with handling difficult incidents rather than managing ongoing behaviours. This course is contextualised to reflect requirements, issues and practices specific to allied health workplaces.

Report incidents according to organisation policies and procedures

Review incidents with appropriate staff and offer suggestions appropriate to area of responsibility

Teaching Schedule

There will be two face to face teaching sessions of 3 hours each  for this course. The details of the class date and time will be in the timetable provided to the students.

Overview of Assessment

The assessment will involve preparing a journal, class room activities and online topic discussion with questioning to address appropriate application of knowledge.


Assessment Tasks

The students will be assessed using  topic discussions, role plays and case studies.

These tasks will be completed during the workshops held in class activities.

There will also be two online quizzes that will be assessed for the underpinning knowledge for this course.

Students need to be deemed competent in all outcomes to pass the course.
