Course Description
In this course you will explore the different processes available to assist you in the development of your design ideas to create textile designs and appropriate methods for presenting your designs. You will develop design concepts for textile products according to a specified brief, by undertaking research and creating or adapting designs.
This course consists of 3 Units of Competency that are clustered together for delivery and assessment. The other two units of Competency in this clustered course are:
CUADRA201 Develop drawing skills
CUAACD301 Produce drawings to communicate ideas

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate competency in the above elements and performance Criteria. You will be able to interpret a textile brief, undertake appropriate research, including trend data and the technical requirements, to sketch/ draw and develop a range of preliminary design concepts using different mediums. You will refine these design concepts and create and present a range of textile design products to meet the brief.
Overview of Assessment
This course is assessed in accordance with competency-based assessment. To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete all the assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
Competency is achieved only if competency has been demonstrated within the standard enrolment period. Students are advised that they may be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to confirm aspects of competency not evidenced in class or through assessments.
