Learning Outcomes
PLANNED LEARNING EXPERIENCES
1. Identification of fibres by means of activities in comparing and testing a range of natural and synthetic fibres.
2. Analysis of methods used to construct yarns, by means of an examination of manufacturing processes such as spinning, twisting and blending and by identifying how the construction of yarns effects the properties of final products.
The construction of materials used in garment manufacture, for example fabrics, interlinings and sewing threads. Activities include industry visits simulations and comparison of processes used to construct woven, knitted and non-woven materials
