Course Description

This unit of competency is delivered in the local class 3D 2. This course describes the skills and knowledge to generate specific 3D Models and 2D designs for use in composited 3D and 2D animation projects

Assessment will be ongoing throughout the semester and will involve group and individual projects.


Assessment Tasks

The content of this course contributes to the development and creation of 3D elements that will be incorporated into TWO folio pieces at the end of the semester:-


1) Character model and animation for Interactive character Folio Project –
“The Lost thing” – Building a 3D Character model (non-humanoid) and
Subsequent animation that will be Incorporated into a folio piece with 2D and
Interactive elements (NB Folio piece to be a joint project with Animation 2
(Design Animation & Digital Visual Effects COSC 5381C (CUFANM503A) and
Interactive 2 (Design Interaction COSC 5935C (CUFDIG506A)


2) 3D environment and animation for Green-screen/3D Composite
Building a 3D ‘environment’ that faithfully recreates a sequence from the Orson
Welles film ‘Citizen Kane’. The environment will then be incorporated with live
Footage for the overall realisation (NB Folio piece to be a joint project with
Broadcast 2 (Create Digital VFX (CUFANM402A) COSC 5382C)
