Course Description
This course covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and develop assessment tools, including tools used in formative, summative and recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessment.

As part of your program you will be directed to undertake a number of activities both during scheduled class time and outside of it. It is important that you complete all such activities in a timely manner as they are an important component of your program. Such activities will include but are not limited to the following:

will be handed out during class.

During the program you will complete assessment tasks which are listed, in detail, at the beginning of the course. These tasks include:
- Workplace based projects
- Contributions to online discussion forums

Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course, you need to complete each one of the following pieces
of assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will develop an assessment tool that supports different assessment methods and addresses at
least three units of competency packaged at different Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
levels. The tool must include the instruments for collecting evidence, reflect the principles of
assessment and the rules of evidence, and have the related instructions to assessor/s and candidates.
You also need to show how the contextual needs of different environments are addressed by the tool.
You will trial the tool and then report on the trial and review the tool, including possible proposed
changes to improve it.

All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level. If you are unable to
