Course Description

This unit covers preparing the CAD environment, creating 2D drawings, and producing output including linked bills of materials.

1.1. System variables are customised to suit standard operating procedures.

2.1. Drawings are created using the full capability of the available software system.

2.3. Detailed views are created using various scales to meet job requirements.

3.1. Files are saved in various formats to standard operating procedures.
3.2. Linked entities are listed in a bill of materials format to meet job requirements.
3.3. Supplementary data is extracted from drawing to meet job requirements and may include area, lengths, angles and perimeters.

Details of Learning Activities

Learning activities will take place in a CAD room using industry standard resources. You will complete exercises and industry relevant projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study  to complete assignments outside class time.

In class activities may include:
• Presentations and demonstration

• class exercises to practice and develop skills
• Analysis/critique of relevant material
• Student presentations with Teacher and Peer feedback and review
• Personal class time to discuss and develop own work for assessment/presentation

You are expected to manage your learning and undertake an appropriate amount of out-of-class independent study and research.
