Course Description
This course describes the application of knowledge of the broad social and cultural context in which work is planned and implemented in the community services industry. This course will prepare workers to better understand their client groups and issues that impact on the lives of their clients and hence on their delivery of services. The application of knowledge and skills described in this course relate to functioning independently to plan and undertake community work and associated services.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is based on written responses to questions regarding relevant social and cultural issues impacting on the Australian society and their link to community services practice. Also an evaluation of the issues impacting on a local community including their access to responsive community services.
