Course Description
This course aims at achieving competence in preparing to undertake, carry out and check the results of basic work activities. The context within which competence is to be achieved is electronics and the underpinning knowledge covered by the course includes occupational health and safety, basic physics concepts, mechanics, electrical theory, science and materials

Learning Outcomes
Overview of Assessment
The student must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including online or written tests, practical laboratory activities and a final theory exam.
The assessment will be weighted as follows:
- Evaluation of Practical Folio 50%
- Mid-semester Test 10%
- Final Exam 40%
