Course Description
This unit of competency sets out the knowledge and skills required to apply standards, codes of practice and regulatory requirements to produce air conditioning designs for typical large scale plant and multi-zone applications.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements
apply to this unit at the time of publication.
The unit applies to manufacturing, servicing and maintenance enterprises incorporating refrigeration and air conditioning design, manufacture and installation.
This unit of competency is intended for courses at Diploma Level or higher.
Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities
It is recommended that on entry into this unit learners possess knowledge and skills equivalent to those described in:
VPAU426 Design a basic single zone duct distribution system
VPAU427 Determine operational parameters for building
HVAC/R hydronic systems
VPAU429 Determine psychrometric processes and system performance
