Course Description
In this course, you gain valuable industry experience by completing an industry placement. You work in an area of the industry that interests you, while observing and participating in the development or production of current projects with professional mentors This course involves work integrated learning (WIL) and you develop the skills and knowledge required to set up and maintain workplace relationships, to negotiate within a working environment and to communicate effectively in an industry context. The industry placement will take place in appropriate and approved companies and organizations, or on approved productions.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, you will have developed an awareness of the current screenwriting industry environment. You will be able to negotiate and enter into a formal agreement with an employer, build and maintain professional relationships and communicate effectively as required by freelance workers in the industry .
Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through the negotiation and completion of an industry placement. You are also assessed through a log book of progress meetings with your teacher, a written report reflecting on the placement and through a report from your host employer.
