Lynda.com access information
Lynda.com is an extensive online training library focussed on business and information technology. The lynda.com library helps anyone learn software, creative, and business skills to achieve personal and professional goals. It covers a wide variety of software products and digital technology. The courses are in streaming video format. Unlike basic how-to videos though, Lynda.com offers quality, in-depth courses made by experts. Subject areas include:
- Business including Office and Google software
- Photography and video
- Web and social media
There are over 1400 courses and 82,000 videos and new material is added every week. Videos use screenshots, narration, live action, smart boards, charts and graphics, audio and include captioning. Courses are presented in small chunks, so it’s easy to find quick answers to specific questions.
Before you access Lynda.com
When you first use Lynda.com you will be asked to create an individual profile. This profile “allows you to track your movie viewing history and enjoy other lynda.com features designed to help you organize and customize your training.”
When you access Lynda.com from off-campus you must still access Lynda via the RMIT website and login with your RMIT login, so that you will be recognised as eligible to use the RMIT subscription. You will then do the secondary login to your Lynda.com profile when you land on the Lynda.com entry page.
(This link will also work off-campus)
