University wide scholarships

University wide scholarships are open to all students across the University. 

  • Australian Postgraduate Awards (APAs) For local doctoral or masters by research students, or commencing IPRS holders; a stipend of $28,849 per annum, fee-exempt place and other allowances and leave provisions; applications are now closed.
  • Chile Bicentennial Research Scholarship For Chilean research students; worth tuition, travel and study allowance; applications now open.
  • Higher Degree by Research Publications Grant (HDRPG) For research students to financially assist to write publications after thesis/project submission; worth $25,849 annum pro rata.
  • Higher Degree by Research Travel Grant (HDRTG) For research candidates travelling to complete fieldwork, research-related activities, conferences and workshops; funding available up to $2000. Application periods apply.
  • International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) For international students starting a higher degree by research (masters or PhD); worth tuition fees and the cost of an Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of your program. Applications are now closed.
  • RMIT European Union Centre HDR Travel Grant (EUCHDRTG) The RMIT European Union Centre HDR Travel Grant (EUCHDRTG) is available to assist research candidates to travel to EU Member States. The EUCHDRTG will cover travel costs associated with research-related activities; worth up to €3860; applications close 30 April 2015.
  • RMIT PhD International Scholarship (RPIS) For international doctoral candidates, a stipend of $28,849 per annum, tuition fees, overseas health cover and other allowances and leave provisions; applications are now closed.
  • RMIT PhD and Masters Scholarship (RPS) For local doctoral or masters by research students, a stipend of $28,849 per annum, fee-exempt place and other allowances and leave provisions; applications are now closed.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarship (VCPS) For local and international doctoral research candidates; a stipend of $41,150 and an additional $5,000 research support allowance of per annum and other allowances and leave provisions; applications are now closed.
  • Victoria India Doctoral Scholarships For international PhD research students; worth $30,000 per year for three years; Applications are now closed.
