Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion

RMIT recognises the importance of an environment that celebrates and welcomes diversity. We acknowledge that such environments result in higher success and engagement levels for both staff and students.

Within Ready for Life and Work: RMIT’s Strategic Plan to 2020, “inclusion” is identified as one of our key values.

RMIT creates life-changing opportunities for all, welcomes students and staff from diverse backgrounds, honours the identity and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations, and is an accessible and open institution dedicated to serving the needs of the whole community.

As we progress throughout 2016-2020, this site will continue to grow and evolve. So we encourage you to come back regularly and explore the content including action plans, networks, resources and professional development opportunities.

Hear from our Vice Chancellor Martin Bean on the importance of driving workplace gender equality at RMIT.

The Diversity and Inclusion Framework

The Diversity and Inclusion Framework details our high level aspirations and within this sit six related Action Plans. Each Action Plan outlines the University’s key priorities and objectives, to build a more open and accessible institution that is dedicated to engaging with staff, students and community.
