Course Description

In this course you will undertake and be responsible for the development, execution and delivery of a media production. This will be a capstone achievement at the final stages of the associate degree program of study that demonstrates your practical grasp of the major stages of production from concept development through preproduction, filming and assembly in post-production of a completed work.

Applying the broad skills and knowledge you have developed throughout the Screen and Media Production program, you will collaborate with others according to professional principles and practices.

This course contributes to the following Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) of the AD017 Associate Degree in Screen and Media:

1. produce screen and media content with high production values for a range of platforms and environments. 2. apply industry relevant knowledge and skills to devise, develop and build contemporary screen and media content for diverse audiences and contexts. 3. apply and creatively adapt theoretical and technical knowledge and skills in screen and media production to your practice or future study. 5. demonstrate critical thinking and innovation when identifying and responding to problems in diverse contexts within screen and media production. 7. work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness. 8. apply initiative and judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making as a writer, editor or future student.


Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

1.apply and demonstrate a range of learned knowledge and skills to produce screen media content

2.interpret and analyse a brief for a screen production, and plan the design, technical, safety and logistical requirements

3.work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a filmed screen production

4.respond to feedback, evaluate production strengths and reflect on areas for improvement

5.create a finalised screen media product that demonstrates high production values and is exhibited to an audience
