Course Description

This course equips entrepreneurs with the essential skills and knowledge to successfully grow and scale their ventures post-launch. Focusing on the critical aspects of scaling a business, participants will explore strategies for product and market development, sales funnels, and growth hacking. The course will also cover effective delegation, system creation, building organizational culture, and managing resources (HR, tech, finance, and social capital). Additionally, students will dive into entrepreneurial finance, learning about cashflow management, burn rates, and how to prepare for and pitch at various stages of funding.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:  

CLO1: Demonstrate an advanced understanding of strategies for scaling and growing entrepreneurial ventures in competitive markets. 

CLO2: Critically evaluate the challenges and opportunities involved in post-launch activities, including marketing, funding, and cashflow management. 

CLO3: Apply tools and frameworks to develop effective resource allocation plans, including financial, human, and technological resources. 

CLO4: Collaborate with peers to design and pitch innovative growth strategies and prepare for multiple stages of venture funding. 


Overview of Learning Activities

This course is comprised of three parts with eleven core modules on scaling new ventures. You are expected to complete two individual assessments and one within a group. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities, including lecture and/or facilitator-directed learning; prescribed readings; analysing video material; case studies; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; in-class discussions and presentations; collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects. As a course that focuses on managing and growing entrepreneurial new ventures, you will participate in authentic assessments by applying your entrepreneurial skills to a real-life case study. You will also have the opportunity to study the success stories of real life entrepreneurial ventures and gain insight from their experiences engaging scaling their new ventures.
