Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify networking and collaboration needs and develop formal and informal partnerships to enhance service delivery and improve professional practice.
This unit applies to work in all industry sectors, and to individuals who take pro-active responsibility for improving collaboration between workers and organisations.

Overview of Assessment
There are three individual assessment tasks consisting of case study analysis, role plays, and short answer questions.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Develop and present a networking strategy for an organisation - For this assessment students are required, with a partner, to deliver a presentation of about 10-15 minutes to a small group of
classmates (3 or 4) in a simulated networking meeting to demonstrate that you are able to: Gain relevant and current information about the sector/Evaluate the gaps that may exist in the service/ Develop a strategy of how your organisation can network or collaborate with relevant organisations (both
government and non-government) in the future.
Assessment Task 2: Group role-plays/Collaboration project - This series of role-plays is designed to allow the student to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in developing and maintaining collaborative partnership project with 3 other organisations in a simulated workplace environment.
Assessment Task 3: Knowledge Questions - The objective of this assessment is for students to demonstrate their knowledge of how to develop and maintain networks and collaborative partnerships in community services work.
You will be given two (2) attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic. Resubmissions beyond two (2) attempts are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator.
