Course Description
In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to manage risks that may impact achievement of project objectives. This involves identifying, analysing, treating and monitoring project risks, and assessing risk management outcomes.
The course applies to individuals responsible for managing and leading a project in an organisation, business, or as a consultant.

Lesson Title: Establish and identify risks Description: In this session, students will be introduced to the process of establishing and identifying risks in risk management. The students will learn how to define the scope for the risk management process and establish the criteria against which risks will be assessed. They will also learn how to identify potential opportunities and threats that may impact various aspects of a project or its deliverables. By successfully completing this session, students will gain a foundational understanding of establishing and identifying risks in risk management. |

Lesson Title: Analysing, evaluating and treating risks Description: In this session, students will be introduced to the comprehensive process of analyzing, evaluating, and treating risks in risk management. They will gain knowledge about various methods used to assess the likelihood and consequences of risks, as well as the impact of risk events on project outcomes and objectives. Additionally, students will explore effective methods and strategies to modify and mitigate risks. By successfully completing this session, students will develop a solid understanding of the entire risk management process, including risk analysis, evaluation, and treatment. Lesson Title: Monitoring, controlling and Reviewing risk Description: In this session, students will be introduced to the process of monitoring and controlling risks, as well as reviewing the outcomes in risk management. They will learn about the methods used to monitor risks, including the implementation of agreed-upon risk response plans, tracking identified risks, identifying and analyzing new risks, and evaluating the effectiveness of the risk management process throughout the project. By successfully completing this assessment, students will demonstrate their ability to effectively monitor and control risks in a project. The primary objective of the meeting is to engage in extensive discussions aimed at identifying the objectives, standards, project risk context and identifying project risks using valid and reliable identification methods to inform risk management processes. The student will also be responsible for developing approaches to risk management that will help achieve the desired outcomes and answer a series of questions. Additionally, the student is expected to consider their own role in contributing to the broader goals of the work environment, taking into account how their actions and decisions can support the overall organizational objectives. During this task, the student's planning and organizing skills, oral communication, and teamwork abilities will be assessed to evaluate their proficiency in these areas. Attendance Requirement - 85% for all students.
Resubmission Policy:
To pass this course, students must achieve a Satisfactory (S) result for all their Assessments (and parts of those assessments).
Students who do not achieve a Satisfactory (S) result for their entire original submission for an Assessment will be provided with 1 (one) more submission opportunity (e.g. the resubmission) with a specific due date by their assessor. Students must achieve a Satisfactory (S) result on their resubmission for that Assessment, by the due date given to them by their Assessor.
Students who fail to submit their assessment by the due date will be issued a DNS (Did Not Submit) result which will not be overturned by teaching or managing staff. A DNS result will be overturned based on an approved Extension of Time or approved Special Consideration.
To be deemed Competency Achieved, students must achieve a satisfactory result in all assessment tasks. Students who fail to receive a Satisfactory result on all assessment tasks and have exhausted their resubmissions, extension of time applications, special consideration applications or Equitable Learning Plan provisions will be deemed as Not Yet Competent.
