Course Description

This course considers supply chain management as a holistic logistics management process across the full spectrum of business activities, from the sourcing of raw materials from suppliers to the delivery of goods and services to the final customers and consumers. The course provides a synthesis of the many critical facets of supply chain management. You will formulate appropriate strategies to enhance overall efficiency and responsiveness through optimization of supply network design and logistics operations.

This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience. You will undertake and be assessed on structured activities that allow you to learn, apply and demonstrate your professional or vocational practice; and be involved in authentic engagement with partner organisations that include industry feedback.

This course also provides you with a capstone experience, which will provide you with the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your program.

On successful completion of this program you will be able to:

CLO1. Critique and apply appropriate principles and approaches to formulate effective supply chain strategies. CLO2. Generate and critically review different configurations and scenarios in the optimization of supply chain network. CLO3. Synthesise and critically evaluate appropriate techniques and methods in the integration of logistics and supply chain operations. CLO4. Deploy leadership and organizing skills in leveraging resources, capabilities, and competencies of a group to analyse situations and develop solutions to problems. CLO5. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and communication techniques in teamwork to solve real-world problems in supply chain management.

In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
