Course Description
This course will introduce you to various theories and models of leadership in organisations. The course explores the psychological, behavioural, structural and cultural issues that leaders face in contemporary organisation settings and workplace situations. Designed to Australian Qualification Framework (AQF7), this course includes a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed through in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry is integral to your experience.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO1: Critically analyse and apply leadership theories and models in various organisational situations. CLO2: Research and analyse current issues in leadership in a range of contemporary organisational settings and workplace situations. CLO3: Use critical self-reflection as a tool for leadership development. CLO4: Apply feedback from others to enhance leadership capabilities and act on opportunities for leadership development.Overview of Learning Activities
In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes, assignments, prescribed readings, sourcing, researching and analysing specific information, solving problems, conducting presentations, producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
